a sweet spring wedding

Sorry for the mega slow loading, I just couldn't not show you these... all of these.
This is my second ever wedding gig - got to love folk who are willing to take a chance on a newbie. Two from two have been the most lovely couples, so sweet and in love, and more importantly so CALM!
This big day was totally glorious and spring-y in the Awaiti Gardens in Carterton - so many beautiful flowers and ideal weather. A car crash blocking the road from the getting ready to the ceremony raised the blood pressure somewhat but we all got there in the end.
Love shooting weddings, can't wait for the next couple I've got locked in for next year!
Thank you so much Regan and Paul!

cat in kids clothing

Today I am inspired by Peta Mazey .and well. I've always had a thing for pets wearing clothes.

One of the tasks set out by Rachel Devine's ebook  (which is highly worth reading by the way, if you like to photograph children...) is to pop to the op shop, pick out some little clothes and fashion a shoot around them. As I currently lack offspring, I substituted 'kids' for 'cats' and ba-zing!

Luckily my furbabies were all doped out from the sunshine so were remarkably easy to dress and prod into 'poses', although keeping their eyes open was a challenge.

ah anyone who cares - D90, 50mm 1.4 at f2 (mostly), ISO 600ish, apperture priority, mostly edited with Rachel Devine actions and other tweaks.

These last two snaps of Steve are so HIM - anyone he meets comments on his super long super fluffy tail (even the vet thought it was funny and she sees funny looking cats ALL THE TIME), and his psycho mid-meow face is the one he puts on to tell me he's dying of starvation, usually followed by some melancholic cupboard door pawing.

Owl Pillow

I'm MAKING AN OWL PILLOW

It is 7.30 and I am on the computer. Slap on the hand, move along.

After my super productive day yesterday I was too hyped up to sleep, which made me too tired to stay at work today (oh well). I came home early with the intention of catching a kip but ended up at spotlight instead planning all types of new hobbies.

Ever since then I've been doing this:

Hobbies! Materials! Charlie backdrop!

I made an owly pattern all by myself even though I'm a bad drawer!  (the holding pencil kind, not the put stuff in kind)

All snipped out - a preview of whats to come! whoo!

Found to left over lace from another project that didnt quite reach its end and added it to my owl wings for a little bit of je ne sais quoi

Stitching it all together - got 12 rolls of this green thread for $3 - bargain!

Making it up as I go along, cos thats how I roll

Current state of project... getting there getting there... slight facial displacure to be corrected in next steps

I've got an adorable plan for the edges ooo i can't wait, woo woo (owl sounds)!
